The jackets are always too long for the actual book and get crumpled very easily. They also slip off easily and I feel like I spend a lot of unnecessary effort trying to get the jacket to cooperate instead of enjoying the book! I would love decorated hardcovers!Beccahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02706544792110129160noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-121649472180371405.post-46331005786406934792009-08-26T09:50:17.487-05:002009-08-26T09:50:17.487-05:00I LOVE the idea of jacket-less hard covers. An they're a waste of paper and ink. I like how the cover of your example looks like a foil stamp. Very sharp, and more enduring than a dust jacket.Erin Skellyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10437728146277888012noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-121649472180371405.post-89133033958086597632009-08-26T00:37:44.490-05:002009-08-26T00:37:44.490-05:00Dust jackets are annoying but now if we want to ju...Dust jackets are annoying but now if we want to judge a book by it's cover and we only love the beautiful books, we're going to have to wait for paperbacks!Lisahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05554217416500328610noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-121649472180371405.post-13639617263239511432009-08-25T16:46:38.895-05:002009-08-25T16:46:38.895-05:00I haven't yet seen this type of book, although...I haven't yet seen this type of book, although the books at my kids school are a curious mix of a jacketless hardcover that is smaller in size than the usual. More like paperback sized. that I haven't seen anywhere else. I am interested to see how these look in person, and will be watching out for them.Zibileehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05857638467064749190noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-121649472180371405.post-44314822568567157982009-08-25T15:56:14.888-05:002009-08-25T15:56:14.888-05:00*longing for a return to leather-bound**longing for a return to leather-bound*Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-121649472180371405.post-45539849901264386992009-08-25T10:14:57.473-05:002009-08-25T10:14:57.473-05:00I just read The Manual of Detection (it's revi...I just read The Manual of Detection (it's reviewed on my site) which is a Penguin book and had no dust jacket. The hardcover was beautiful without it. I'm with you, I would like to see the end of the dust jacket in mainstream hardcovers.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02378547566593756176noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-121649472180371405.post-18842192221921567452009-08-25T06:58:07.091-05:002009-08-25T06:58:07.091-05:00I agree - dust jackets are annoying!I agree - dust jackets are annoying!bermudaonionhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10726401178972099557noreply@blogger.com
