Indiespensable is Powell’s subscription book club. Volume 5 will be a signed and numbered first edition of The Flying Troutmans by Miriam Toews, a book that’s been getting plenty of favorable pre-publication press. Only 780 copies are available. For me, the best part of this volume is the fact that the book will be sent “weeks before the standard copy goes on sale.”Other extras include:
- A custom slipcase wrapped in mahogany paper with a linen embossment
- The book's title and author's name stamped in silver foil on the slipcase spine
- A matching foil stamp of the author's signature on the front panel
