2008 Nobel Prize in Literature Awarded to Jean-Marie Gustave Le Clézio

The Nobel Prize in Literature for 2008 was just awarded to the French writer Jean-Marie Gustave Le Clézio. There’s an interesting biography of Le Clézio over at nobelprize.org. I’m not familiar with Le Clézio’s work, but he’s written numerous novels and essays, along with “several books for children and youth.” Not surprisingly, less than a third of his works have been translated into English—more proof of that “American insularity” we've heard so much about recently.
