Chad Post Wants Clezio for Open Letter Books

Chad Post, director of the University of Rochester’s literary publishing house Open Letter Books, has this to say about Jean-Marie Gustave Le Clezio, winner of the 2008 Nobel Prize in Literature:
I am going to check his books out for Open Letter Press. … I just talked to an editor at a big house who doesn't think any of the commercial houses will go after him. Even with the Nobel, there are too many books, many of which still wouldn't sell well enough to justify this.
In response to those who might believe this is another example of an “unknown author” willing the Nobel Prize, Post remarked that Clezio is “an author known throughout the world (an author that maybe we should know).”
