Emerging Story: Milan Kundera’s Denunciation

Milan Kundera, likely the best known Czech writer and author of The Unbearable Lightness of Being, is suspected of denunciation. According to a lengthy article in the Czech magazine Respekt, Kundera revealed someone’s whereabouts to the police in 1950, leading to the person’s arrest and lengthy incarceration. Kundera denies the allegation, but the documentary evidence is difficult to refute. For more on this developing story, see the Literary Saloon.
