
Milan Kundera, likely the best known Czech writer and author of
The Unbearable Lightness of Being, is suspected of denunciation. According to
a lengthy article in the Czech magazine
Respekt, Kundera revealed someone’s whereabouts to the police in 1950, leading to the person’s arrest and lengthy incarceration. Kundera denies the allegation, but the documentary evidence is difficult to refute. For more on this developing story, see the
