Roberto Bolaño's 2666 is Coming

Fans of Roberto Bolaño are eagerly awaiting next Tuesday’s release of 2666,the novel left uncompleted when Bolaño died in 2003 at the age of 50. By all accounts, this 912-page book requires a high level of reading commitment.

An early review in Slate, states 2666 has “the confident strangeness of a masterpiece.” The review concludes that 2666 “demands from the reader a kind of abject submission—to its willful strangeness, its insistent grimness, even its occasional tedium—that only the greatest books dare to ask for or deserve.” Read it if you dare.
