
Indie publisher Jasmine-Jade Enterprises, the parent corporation of Ellora’s Cave and Cerridwen Press, just filed a lawsuit against Borders and its distribution company Baker & Taylor. Jasmine-Jade is seeking $1 million in damages allegedly caused by Borders’s "excessive" orders of books (followed by large returns of those same books). In a statement, Jasmine-Jade’s CEO accused Borders of ordering more books than it planned to sell in order to "reduce the amount owed [Jasmine-Jade] and produce a credit balance in the account."
