The invitation from Amazon.com: "We'd like to invite you to an important Amazon.com press conference on Monday, February 9 at 10:00 am. The press conference is scheduled to take place at The Morgan Library & Museum located at 225 Madison Avenue at 36th Street in New York."
The speculation: This will be the announcement of the Kindle 2. After all, Amazon's last NY press event was the launch of the original Kindle in late 2007.

2 things to look for:
1)does the new Kindle support epub formatted documents?
2)does the new Kindle have a slot for memory cards? My understanding is that it does not.
Maybe they'll start offering the Kindle up here in .ca (:grr:).
I had heard of the release of the new Kindle about a week ago. Can't say I'm going to rush out and buy one yet, but I have thought about it. Do you have one?
I don't have one. I have a Sony reader instead, and I like it just fine (though I still prefer a real book). I'm thinking about upgrading to Sony's new model or to the new Kindle, but I'm not sure it's worth the $100s involved.
