Thanks to Stephenie Meyer's Twilight series, Emily Bronte's classic novel Wuthering Heights is enjoying a comeback. Not only is Wuthering Heights the favorite book of one of Twilight's lead characters (Bella Swan), but the 1847 novel has been given a make-over with a new Twilight-inspired cover design.The Telegraph reports that the edition with the new cover "has sold more than 10,000 copies in Waterstone's booksellers stores since May, more than twice as many as the traditional Penguin Classics edition." While I don't have an opinion on Meyer's bestselling series (or at least not one I'm willing to state in public), I'm glad to see so many people discovering a very worthy classic.

I have a leather-bound collectible edition of Wuthering Heights on my shelf that I have been meaning to get to this year. I might just have to put it next in line now.
Have you read Wuthering Heights? I am curious about your take on it. I read it a couple of years ago and thought that it was a very odd book, filled with dysfunctional people. I kind of liked it, but it was not a favorite.
I read it so long ago my opinion doesn't count for much. It's one of those books I'd love to pick up again if I could find the time.
I just finished Eclipse (yes...true) and I immediately wanted to pick up my very warn very beloved copy of Wuthering Heights. Actually, I did just so I could pull a quote from Wuthering Heights for my Eclipse review. So glad WH is getting some notice.

This is interesting. The magic of a cover, eh? I must admit that I did want to reread Wuthering Heights after reading Twilight (and Romeo and Juliet after reading New Moon). In any case, at least it's getting people to read classics
