Another Palin Biography on the Way

Kaylene Johnson's biography of Alaska Governor Sarah Palin, Sarah: How a Hockey Mom Turned Alaska's Political Establishment Upside Down, is currently the only available biography of this attention-getting politician. In response to dramatically increased demand since Palin's nomination as the Republican vice presidential candidate, 100,000 copies of Johnson's book will have shipped to retailers by early this week.

Johnson's monopoly is about to come to an end. On October 10th, Christian publisher Zondervan will publish a new biography by Joe Hilley titled Sarah Palin: A New Kind of Leader. According to a statement by Zondervan, Hilley's book will explore "themes from [Palin's] career in politics, her life as a hockey mom, and her strongly held Christian faith, explaining how they influence her new style of leadership and align with our changing economy in the information age."

I don't understand why everyone's so interested in the "hockey mom" angle.

I think it's because it makes her "normal" and everyone wants a normal person to be in power, someone who understands them. From what I've heard, though, she wasn't a hockey mom for too long. Besides that, don't we want someone who is more intelligent than ourselves to be president right now, someone smart enough to get us out of the mess we're in?

Just my two cents ... sorry if that was more than you asked for, LOL!

I think the title of the new bio should be the same as the book you're reading by Dubravka Ugresic.

Ha! Perhaps you're right, Harvey.

Shouldn't this really be characterized as a short story?
