Books for Barack

I’ve said it before, but I think it's worth repeating: this isn’t a political blog. But in this presidential election year, everything is politics, including books. Getting into the political spirit, novelist Ayelet Waldman (Michael Chabon’s wife) has launched Books for Barack, stating “We strongly believe that Barack Obama is the only candidate who can lead us out of the mess George Bush made.” Hundreds of authors have donated books to the program, including many rare and collectible titles. In exchange for a $250 donation to Barack Obama’s campaign, Waldman will send a mystery bag of 10 books along with a canvas tote bag with the Books for Barack logo. To donate, follow the instructions found here. The first bags will be sent out this coming Friday, September 26. If you've been waiting for a good opportunity to contribute to Obama's campaign, this is it.
