Purpose: Feed the addiction
It’s always risky buying a book for a booklover because everyone has specific interests and tastes, and the books you loved may disappoint another reader. But, regardless of literary taste, I’ve never found a booklover who doesn’t enjoy books about books, particularly if you choose one of the classics of the genre:
1. A Gentle Madness: Bibliophiles, Bibliomanes, and the Eternal Passion for Booksby Nicholas A. Basbanes
2. 84, Charing Cross Roadby Helen Hanff
3. The Yellow-Lighted Bookshop: A Memoir, a Historyby Lewis Buzbee

I loved 84 Charing Cross Road and I think I would like to have The Yellow-Lighted Bookshop as well. Since we don't do Christmas gifts over here I think I will treat myself to a copy. Thanks for a great suggestion.
I loved both 84 Charing Cross Road (as well as every other book Hanff wrote) and The Yellow-Lighted Bookshop. I haven't read the other selection but I think you're right; these can't miss for any book lover.
The recent hit Guernsey piques my interest in 84 Charing Cross Road, which I plan to buy for myself! I have enjoyed Yellow-Lighted Bookshop, which was written by a local author. I highly recommend for all book lovers who want to peek at the mind of a bookaholic! :)
