E-Book Pricing

There's quite an ongoing debate about the appropriate pricing for e-books. It's a difficult problem because e-books are very different from their print counterparts, and the market forces are also different. Teleread proposes that a fair price for an e-book is "30-50% cheaper than the print edition." That sounds about right to me, but I'm not sure that works for the publishers/authors.

In my view, a fair price for a book is whatever the consumer wants to pay.
