Book Blogging: The First vs. the Second Wave

Over at Conversational Reading, guest poster Andrew Seal discusses "two distinct waves of blogging about literature." In Scott's view, the first wave "focuse[s] a great deal on supplementing or correcting the coverage books g[e]t in mainstream media outlets," while the second wave of blogs "tend to function more like forums, with the heavy emphasis on 'community' and 'conversation.'"
