Book Sense Book of the Year Awards Announced

The Book Sense Book of the Year awards have been announed. Khaled Hosseini's A Thousand Splendid Suns snagged the Book Sense Book of the Year Award for Fiction. I'm not sure I would've picked this book for this award, but it's an enjoyable read, and Hosseini deseves recognition as an author. I'd give this book a 3.5 to 4 out of 5. A Thousand Splendid Suns doesn't come close to the achievement of The Kite Runner, Hosseini's first novel.

Barbara Kingsolver's Animal, Vegetable, Miracle: A Year of Food Life won the Book Sense Book of the Year Award for Non-fiction. A very solid choice, in my opinion. See my review of this book here.
